the stability and performance of hosting infrastructure
the security of client websites and services
the reputation of shared email and network systems

By using hosting, email, or other infrastructure services provided by Modemkiller Ltd, clients agree to comply with this policy.
This policy supplements Modemkiller Ltd’s Terms of Use, Service Level Agreement, and any project proposal or hosting agreement.
2. Permitted Use
Modemkiller hosting and email services may be used only for lawful and legitimate business or personal purposes.
Clients may use the services to:
host websites and web applications
send and receive legitimate business email
operate CMS platforms and related services
manage domain-based communications
All use must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internet standards.
3. Prohibited Activities
Clients may not use Modemkiller services to engage in any activity that is unlawful, abusive, harmful, or disruptive.
Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to:
Illegal Activity
Hosting or distributing illegal content
Copyright infringement or piracy
Fraud or deceptive practices
Distribution of illegal goods or services
Malicious Behaviour
Malware, spyware, ransomware, or viruses
Phishing campaigns
Attempting to compromise or gain unauthorised access to systems
Running botnets or automated attack systems
Email Abuse
Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
Operating mass mailing systems without proper consent management
Email spoofing or impersonation
Activities likely to cause domain or server blacklisting
Harassment and Abuse
Threats, harassment, or abusive communications
Hate speech or unlawful discriminatory content
Impersonation of individuals or organisations
Infrastructure Abuse
Excessive resource consumption that degrades server performance
Running scripts or applications that disrupt shared infrastructure
Attempting to bypass resource limits or system protections
4. Resource Usage and Fair Use
Hosting resources are provided under a fair use principle to ensure stable performance across all clients sharing infrastructure.
Activities that may violate fair use include:
unusually high CPU or memory consumption
excessive automated processes or background tasks
poorly optimised software causing server strain
excessive database queries or traffic spikes caused by misconfiguration
If a website or service negatively impacts server performance, Modemkiller Ltd may take steps to protect infrastructure stability.
These steps may include:
temporary service limitation
disabling problematic scripts or services
recommending upgrades or optimisation measures
suspending services where necessary
5. Website Security Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for maintaining the security of their own websites and applications.
Client responsibilities include:
maintaining secure CMS installations
updating plugins, themes, and third-party integrations
protecting login credentials and administrative access
ensuring code deployed to hosting infrastructure is secure
Modemkiller Ltd is responsible for server-level security, but cannot guarantee the security of third-party software installed on client websites.
6. Email Service Use
Where mailbox services are provided by Modemkiller Ltd:
each mailbox must be used only by authorised users
clients are responsible for maintaining password security
clients are responsible for activity originating from their domain or mailboxes
Modemkiller Ltd does not routinely monitor the contents of email communications.
However, in cases of:
abuse complaints
spam reports
suspected criminal activity
Modemkiller Ltd reserves the right to investigate the issue and cooperate with relevant authorities where legally required.
7. Suspension or Termination of Services
Modemkiller Ltd reserves the right to suspend or terminate services without notice if a client account is found to be engaging in activities that violate this policy.
Circumstances that may result in suspension include:
spam or email abuse
hosting malware or phishing systems
illegal or prohibited content
activities threatening server integrity
repeated violations of fair use limits
Where possible, Modemkiller Ltd will attempt to notify clients and allow remediation before suspension.
Immediate suspension may occur where necessary to protect infrastructure, other clients, or third-party networks.
8. Emergency Intervention
Where client websites or services pose a risk to server performance, security, or reputation, Modemkiller Ltd may take immediate action to stabilise the environment.
Such actions may include:
temporarily disabling services
restricting server resources
removing malicious files or scripts
isolating compromised systems
Where emergency work is required to restore service integrity, additional charges may apply in accordance with the relevant hosting agreement or support terms.
9. Reporting Abuse
Reports of abuse or suspected violations of this policy may be submitted to:

description of the issue
supporting evidence where available
10. Policy Updates
Modemkiller Ltd may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or operational practices.
